FM Bilawal Bhutto to chair G-77 meeting during US visit

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari will undertake an official visit to the United States (US) from December 14 to 21 where he will chair a meeting of G-77 conference.
He is expected to hold meetings with the United Nations chief António Guterres and will discuss bilateral issues and regional issues with relevant officials in New York and Washington.
On December 14, FM Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari will participate in a high-level meeting at the United Nations Security Council on the topic of ‘New Direction for Multilateral Relations’ to restore international peace and security.
Foreign Minister will host and chair the Ministerial Conference of G-77 and China – the largest negotiating bloc of developing countries within the UN system – from December 15 to 16 in New York.
The agenda of the conference includes a discussion on multiple challenges facing developing countries in attaining the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, climate-induced disasters and geopolitical developments, foreign office said.
On December 19, the foreign minister will visit Washington and hold meetings with senior government officials, congressional leaders, Pakistani-American businessmen and community members, as well as interact with think tanks and the media.
The Foreign Office added that during the official meetings, the FM Bilawal will discuss bilateral relations, regional issues of mutual interest to further strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, climate change and economic development.
Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will share Pakistan’s perspective on climate change and also inform about the severe damage caused by devastating floods in Pakistan and the reconstruction and rehabilitation measures taken by the government.
