Five-storey building collapses in Karachi, no casualty reported

KARACHI: A five-storey building collapsed in Liaquatabad area of Karachi on Tuesday night, however fortunately no casualty was reported.

Rescue sources said the incident took place in Liaquatabad No 5 as foundations of the building were weak. Neighbours have expressed reservation that some people might have been stuck under the rubble as excavation work was going on on the empty plot adjacent to the building.

While, police said the building had been vacated due to its dilapidated condition one day ago. The five-storey building was constructed on 60 square feet area.

Building collapses in Liaquatabad; no casualty reported as building was evacuated a day before.

Residents of the area said the building collapsed itself and it was not demolished. The affectees have appealed to the government and administration for help. They said they had no shelter for their families and all their investment was the building.
