Five dead, 22 injured in Quetta blast
QUETTA: At least five people were killed and 22 others injured on Friday in a bomb blast in Kuchlak area of Quetta.
The dead and injured were rushed to Mufti Mehmood Hospital for medico-legal formality and medical assistance respectively. Hospital sources said more deaths were feared.
Media sources said the explosion took place at a madrassa during Friday prayers around 2:40 pm. The bomb was planted near minbar.
Heavy contingent of security forces have cordoned off the site of the incident, while search for the culprits is on. A squad of bomb disposal squad has also arrived to clear the area.
A media source said there was no surveillance camera installed around as it was an impoverished area.
Emergency has been declared in all the nearby hospitals including Civil Hospital Quetta.
India has allegedly been involved in fanning terrorism in Balochistan region through its network of spies. The incident of blast at the time when world powers are discussing Kashmir dispute at the United Nations Security Council after five decades has raised eyebrows.
