Firearms storage hidden underground discovered by CTD

On Friday, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) claimed to have discovered a large stash of firearms in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s (KP) Orakzai area.
Two plastic bags containing weapons were discovered buried in the Itmanzai region, according to CTD authorities.
As per CTD, the bags included 22 rocket-propelled grenade (RPG-7) launchers, 22 rounds, 12 hand grenades, and hundreds of cartridges.
Following the discovery, a first information report (FIR) was submitted at the CTD Kohat station. The weapons were stashed in the region by unnamed terrorists, according to officials.

On September 27, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Malakand division claimed to have apprehended a hardline terrorist linked to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
Ahsanullah alias Talha, a terrorist, was apprehended in Buner, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The apprehended terrorist’s firearms and ammo were also seized. The terror suspect was wanted by authorities for a variety of criminal offences. In 2009, he placed explosives in Buner and other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Previously in February, the security forces conducted a successful raid near Afghan border in Bajaur district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and averted the possible act of sabotage in Nawagai tehsil.
According to the sources, the security forces recovered hundreds of kilograms of explosive material and huge cache of weapons during the operation.
Moreover, the Tahreek-e-Taliban terrorists were planning a terror attack on security forces at the behest of the Indian intelligence agency, RAW.
