Fire in 3 factories, the affected buildings might collapse

KARACHI: Fire in the factories in Landhi is not extinguished yet. Rescue teams are engaged in the operation, the factory buildings are in danger of collapsing due to severe fire.
A fire broke out in 3 factories of Export Processing Zone in Landhi area of Karachi last night, after which the fire of one factory was extinguished after timely action of aid agencies, while 2 buildings are still engulfed in flames.
Fifteen fire brigade vehicles are engaged in putting out the blaze.
Authorities say buildings affected by the blaze are in danger of collapsing. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has taken notice of the incident and has demanded a report.
Plastic equipment is made in an affected factory. According to rescue teams, it may take another 4 to 6 hours to control the fire. The factory owner said the fire was caused by a short circuit.
