KARACHI: A fire erupted at a chemical factory in SITE area of Karachi on Saturday. According to reports, eight people were injured in the incident.

Due to the presence of petrol and paint thinners inside the building, the fire raged and went out of control, a fire officer told local media.

Following the alarming situation, the rescue officials evacuated people from neighbouring factories, and a petrol pump in the area.

Five fire trucks and rescue teams reached the site and tried to control the situation as a number of employees were reportedly stuck inside the factory. Rangers also cordoned off the area.

As per the latest update, the firefighting operation is underway but everyone inside the building has been rescued. Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has taken a notice of the incident.
