Filmmaker Mo Naqvi’s docu-series nominates for Emmy Awards
Pakistani-American director and film-maker Mohammad Ali Naqvi’s documentary series Turning Point: 9/11 and the War on Terror received an Emmy Award nomination. The director shared this news on his Instagram account.
The Netflix series, which Naqvi co-executively produced, has been nominated for an Emmy Award show 2022 in the category of “Outstanding Politics and Government Documentary.”
The Netflix series, which premiered on September 1, 2021, features interviews with representatives from the White House, the military, media, and even former Taliban commanders in addition to some astounding statements.
Taking to social media, Naqvi shared that the five-part docu-series, that covers the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Al Qaeda’s roots, and America’s response, has been nominated for the prestigious award.
Previously, MO Naqvi announced that he has been included in the latest invitees to join the Academy of Motion Picture Art and Sciences (AMPAS) and became one of the 397 members of the class of 2022. Being a member of The Academy, He is now qualified to cast a vote at the Oscars. Pop artist Billie Eilish, actress Ariana DeBose, and Bollywood A-lister Kajol were among his new cohorts.
