Fiancée of murdered Sikh youth along four suspects arrested in Peshawar
PESHAWAR: Police have arrested fiancée of the murdered Sikh youth along four other suspects in Peshawar to investigate the case on Friday.
Sources of police claimed that fiancée of Pervinder Singh, Parem Kumari, did not like him, therefore she had hired hitmen to get him murdered. Initial investigation report of police revealed that the victim was invited for a meeting, where he was shot dead. Police had launched investigation after recovering body of the Sikh man Chamkani area.
Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Sajid Khan had told that a case had been registered in this regard. He had said that the resident of Shangla, Pervinder Singh, had arrived in Peshawar from abroad for his wedding preparation.
Police sources said brother of the deceased had received a phone call on the night of Jan 4 from Singh’s number informing him that he was dead. His body was found from a storm drain.
Pervinder Singh had been working in Malaysia for the last six years and was set to tie the knot in February.
Earlier talking to media, Harmeet Singh, a journalist and elder brother of the 24-year-old, had told that they had no enmity with anyone. The family of the victim had also staged a demonstration by placing the body in front of the Peshawar Press Club.
