While giving a media briefing after the meeting of the federal cabinet, Marriyum Aurangzeb said, the interior minister gave a detailed briefing to the cabinet on the decision of the ECP, that how according to the constitution and law, a declaration can be given after this decision, because Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has been proved to be a foreign-aided party in the decision of the Election Commission, now the government has taken a principled decision to prepare a declaration on it and send it to the Supreme Court.
Marriyum Aurangzeb said that three days have been given after which the Ministry of Law will prepare the material for the declaration after reviewing all the constitutional and legal issues in the next meeting of the Cabinet, while the far side is that there are 16 bank accounts which Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has not disclosed which are opened in the name of its senior leadership including Imran Khan.
She further stated that all the evidence given in the judgment was examined in detail, in which it is clearly written that PTI received funding from foreign residents and companies and Imran Khan submitted a false affidavit in the Election Commission of Pakistan.
She said that the prohibited funding reference against PTI was filed by Akbar S Babar who was the founding member of PTI and Pakistan Muslim League (N) has no part in it, when Akbar S Babar could not produce evidence before the Election Commission, then State Bank submitted a report.
“ECP heard this case for 7 years and gave an opportunity to PTI to submit the answer but they failed to submit the answer,” she added.
Maryam Aurangzeb said that this is not only a matter of Imran Khan, but it is a matter of a political party which is registered under the Political Party Ordinance 2002, It has been declared a foreign-funded party because the money that came from foreign countries was not disclosed, while the transfer of money to the accounts of four employees was signed by the party’s board.
