FIA cybercrime wing busts gang involved in harassing women

KARACHI: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has busted a five-member gang involved in harassing two women by threatening them to make their videos/ images viral on internet.
An FIA Cybercrime Reporting Centre (CCRC) team under the supervision of female officer Sabeen Ghouri carried out raids at different locations to arrest the suspects. The team recovered 10 mobile phones and obscene videos/ images from them, while a case has been registered against at a police station. The suspects include a father and a son. While, the victim girls are cousins to each other.
According to details, an enquiry was registered in FIA CCRC Karachi on the complaint of a victim woman against unidentified persons under the allegations of sending her and her cousin, threatening and harassing messages through Whatsapp, by virtue of their obscene material. Moreover, the culprits desired the victim to fulfill their ulterior motives and illicit desires.

After being reported the matter in CCRC Karachi, a series of consecutive raids were conducted by the team headed by SI Sabeen Ghouri, in different areas of Karachi and all the five alleged persons namely Zeeshan Shareef, Abdul Nawab, Umair Nawab, Muhammad Zain and Muhammad Rizwan were arrested and their mobile phones were technically analyzed which revealed that the obscene images of both the victims were available in their mobile phones.
FIA said they had committed the offence punishable 20, 21, 24 of PECA–2016 r/w 109, 420, PPC. Hence, the case was registered against them and the investigation of the case was taken up by SI Sabeen Ghouri, it said.
