Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry apologized
Minister of Information and Broadcasting of Pakistan Fawad Chaudhry has apologized before the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday (today).
A show-cause was issued to the Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry after his demeaning comments regarding the Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan.
Fawad Chaudhry alleged Chief of ECP that he is a “spokesperson” of opposition. Fawad Chaudhry further added that ECP headquarters works as the headquarter of the opposition.
Fawad Chaudhry appeared before the bench of ECP after a show-cause notice was issued to the Federal Minister.
It was cleared by Fawad Chaudhry that he is the spokesperson of the party. What he says does not represent his personal views.
Fawad Chaudhry apologized to the ECP but the bench said that verbal apology is not enough.
Federal Minister has mentioned that he will submit a “written apology” to the concerned department.
Earlier, Federal Ministers, Fawad Chaudhry and Azam Swati were issued a show-cause notice by the ECP over the allegations and demeaning comments. Azam Swati also alleged the ECP for rigging.
After which, ECP demanded evidence of the allegations made by both the Federal Ministers and issued the notice.
