ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued details of filing of taxes by members of the parliament including Prime Minister Imran Khan and former president Asif Ali Zardari.
PM Imran Khan paid Rs282, 449 in taxes in 2018, Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly and Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) president Shehbaz Sharif paid Rs9,730, 545, Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari paid Rs294,117, Asif Zardari paid Rs2,891,455 taxes in 2018.
Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi paid Rs241,329,362 paid in taxes.
Federal Minister for Defence Pervez Khattak paid Rs1,826,899, Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiative Asad Umar paid Rs5,346,342, Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed paid Rs579,011, Federal Minister for Industries and Production Hammad Azhar paid Rs22,445, Federal Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan paid Rs1,046,669, Foreign Affairs Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi paid Rs183,900 in taxes.
The FBR said former health minister Aamir Mehmood Kiani and Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda paid no taxes in 2018, Leader of the Opposition in Punjab Assembly Hamza Shahbaz paid Rs8,705,368 in taxes, Ameer Jamaat e Islami Siraj ul Haq paid Rs216,800, Federal Minister for Information Shibli Faraz paid Rs367,460, Federal Minister for Postal Services Murad Saeed paid Rs374, 728, federal minister Azam Khan Swati paid Rs590, 916, Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Zaidi paid Rs896,191, Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry paid Rs1,698,651 and PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah paid Rs1,388,075 in taxes.
