Atif Aslam has come came under the radar of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) as it has issued a notice to the famous Pakistani singer.
The notice was issued on delay in submitting the Advance Income Tax to the FBR.
Aslam received a notice for not paying advance tax worth 60 million rupees which was to be paid by March 15.
Earlier, in October 2020, the FBR launched an investigation into singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s sources of income.
In Feb 2019, the FBR had said that advance taxes gave artificial boost to revenue collection.
“Advance tax is paid on quarterly basis, it saves the taxpayer from excessive burden at the end of a financial year. Such a taxation also gives real-time tax collection estimates to the government,” said the tax collection organisation.
