Fazl ur Rehman’s brother relieved back to KP govt from Karachi
KARACHI: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s brother who was recently appointed as a deputy commissioner (DC) in Karachi has been asked to report to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government now after alleged violation of law in the posting.
Ziaur Rehman, a grade-19 provincial management service officer of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), was appointed as the deputy commissioner of Central district in the megalopolis through a notification dated Jul 23.
The Sindh government now relieved the government officer to the federal government through a notification and the centre has relieved him back to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.
Local media reports claim that Ziaur Rehman was appointed on political basis. The Sindh High Court has reportedly already directed that no official of the provincial management service can work here. Under this directive, many officers of the provincial cadre working in Sindh were relieved to Punjab, K-P and Balochistan.
The Express Tribune has quoted sources as saying that the decision to appoint Zia in Karachi was taken in a meeting between Pakistan Peoples Party co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari and JUI-F chief.
