ISLAMABAD: Interior minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed has revealed on Monday that 20 politicians are facing ‘serious life threats” including JUI-F Chief Fazal-ur-Rehman. The government has already warned all of them.
Interior Minister disclosed the information while talking to the media after visiting National Counter Terrorism Authority (Nacta) headquarters in Islamabad. “These politicians have been issued high alerts. They (the politicians), especially Maulana Fazlur Rehman, have been told to protect themselves,” the minister said.
Sheikh Rasheed also shared his thought on Pakistan Democratic Movement. “Maulana Fazlur Rehman is requested not to fight personal battles, he has no political future. He is calling the assembly illegitimate, he was once a presidential candidate in the same assembly. His dreams will never come true.” Rasheed said.
He further added that there were major threats to China-Pakistan Economic Corridor projects. He also praised the country’s armed forces and law enforcement agencies for defeating terrorism and the evil agenda of anti-state elements.
