Fawad stresses for joint ventures between Pakistan, Germany in film, drama productions

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhary Fawad Hussain has stressed the need for joint ventures between Pakistan and Germany in the fields of film and drama productions.
Talking to Ambassador of Germany Bernhard Stephan Schlagheck in Islamabad, he proposed the holding of zoom meeting with German Film and Drama Producers Associations to strengthen cooperation in the arena of film and joint productions.
He also apprised the ambassador regarding government’s initiative to establish Media Technology University and said that Germany’s cooperation would be welcomed in establishing state of the art modern education institution comprising four schools.
In Sept 2020, Prime Minister Imran Khan had said that promotion of Pakistan’s unique identity locally and globally, and acquainting the youth with cultural heritage was the government’s priority.
He had said this while chairing a meeting in Islamabad to discuss the role and revival of cinema industry for promotion of national identity, culture and heritage.
The prime minister had directed the relevant ministries and departments to furnish a road-map for revival of film industry, promote cultural and societal values of the country.
