ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain has asked former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to return to Pakistan and face his cases.
In a statement on the reports about rejection of Nawaz Sharif’s application by the UK authorities about granting medical visa extension, the information minister said the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) government had no personal enmity with the former prime minister but he should return the money plundered during their government.
He said Nawaz should visit Pakistan High Commission for travelling documents and return to the country and face cases.
The United Kingdom has rejected Nawaz Sharif’s application for visa extension, however he can file an appeal against the decision of the immigration department.
He can file an application for political asylum even if his appeal is dismissed and in the third option he would have to contact the government of Pakistan for emergency travel documents.
