In an exclusive interview with Dialogue Pakistan, the former national cricket team’s Captain and coach Rashid Latif has said that Fawad Alam’s desire to play in Pakistan Super League should be taken seriously and fulfilled.
For today’s PSL match between Lahore Qalandars and Quetta Gladiators, Rashid sees Lahore in more dominating position
However, he also wants the Gladiators to rely more on spinners and advises the Captain Sarfaraz Ahmed to move back to his “street-smart captaincy”.
While commenting on the performances of each team, the former cricketer has said that he likes the way Islamabad United paly the game.
On nepotism and the criticism faced by players belonging to cricketing background especially the young cricketer Azam Khan (Moin Khan’s son) Rashid says: “Azam is following a pathway, playing from Under-19 to (proving himself in) Quetta Gladiators’ emerging category.”
He also mentions the criticism faced by Indian star cricketer Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun Tendulkar who has been picked by Mumbai Indians for Indian Premier League 2021.
“It is not important that if one’s father is an international cricketer then he will not play cricket,” says Rashid while responding the critics who, according to Rashid, have no knowledge of the game.
