FATF acknowledges Pakistan’s progress on across all action plan items

ISLAMABAD: The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has acknowledged that Pakistan has made progress across all action plan items and largely addressed 21 of the 27 action items.

According to the Foreign Offce, the FATF reviewed Pakistan’s progress on its action plan in its Plenary meetings from 18th to 23rd of this month and decided to maintain status quo with respect to classification of Pakistan, for the time being. So, Pakistan’s name will stay in grey list till February 2021.

Recognizing Pakistan’s sustained and irreversible efforts on implementation of the National Action Plan, the FATF has upgraded overall 9 Action Plan items in its Plenary. There is no item remaining in the incomplete category.

Pakistan shall continue to make efforts to complete the remaining items in line with its strategy by February next year. FATF will undertake the next review of Pakistan’s Progress in 2021.
