Pakistan former skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed scored unbeaten 71 runs on 124 balls in first test match against New Zealand at National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi.
Babar Azam struck spinner Michael Bracewell for a six towards mid-wicket to complete his ninth Test century, reviving Pakistan after they were struggling on 115-4 at lunch.
Having won the toss and batted, Azam was unbeaten on 134, with the recalled Sarfaraz Ahmed alongside him on 72, as they added 188 for an unbroken fifth-wicket partnership.
Pakistan handed a comeback to Sarfaraz Ahmed, who hadn’t played a game in test format for nearly four years.
