 Famous Pakistani celebrities who left showbiz for Islam

Living in an Islamic state means leading life according to all the Islamic teachings. But Pakistan is one of those Islamic countries which give liberty to its people to live according to their own wish, and people, themselves know how to balance religion and the world. 

The Islam Vs Art argument is as old as Islam itself as many scholars believe that Islam forbids art. There are many who believe art; that does not promote ant-Islamic teachings is permitted and lawful by Islam.

Pakistan’s entertainment industry is at its boom, yet there are many celebrities who have left the glamorous life for the sake of Islam with their our own will. Many of them were at the peak of their career and were uncrowned kings and queens of  the industry.

Recently, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Pakistan’s one of charming and talented actor left showbiz to spread the message of Islam. Abbasi said that Islam has given him the answers of his questions like how the world came into being and why humans are living in it.

Other than Hamza, there are many other Pakistani celebrities, who left showbiz for Islam.

Junaid Jamshed

Vital Signs’ lead vocalist Junaid Jamshed, who had given us everlasting melodious songs like Dil Dil Pakistan, Tum Door Thay, Aeitabar, Yeh Shaam Phir Nahi Aegi, and many more, officially renounced music in 2004 and decide to devote his life to practice Islam. Jamshed left music but dedicates his melodious voice to Naats and Hamds.

Rabi Pirzada

Dejected singer Rabi Pirzada bid adieu to the showbiz industry after her objectionable videos went viral on Internet in 2019. Before quitting the industry, Pirzada took to social media and wrote a small message, quoting an Ayah from the Quran.

“I, Rabi Pirzada, hold myself aloof from the showbiz (from now onwards). May Allah (SWT) absolve my sins and soften people’s hearts in my favor,” Rabi Pirzada tweeted. She also quoted an ayat from Quran which says, “You (Allah) honor whom You will and You humble whom You will.”

Ali Afzal

Ali Afzal, an actor who was a part of the showbiz industry for over a decade. He was known for his colored eyes and superb acting skills. He acted in Zard Patton Ka Bun, Kailash and many other famous drama serials. He quit showbiz a few years ago to start his spiritual journey and did a talk about his change named Mein Kaisay Badla.

Nargis

Nargis, a popular stage artist, known for her bold dances on the stage and also in movies. She was the first woman who introduced item numbers in Pakistani films. However, few years back she bid farewell to her long successful long career and decided to practice Islam. She made this announcement through a press conference and since then, she has been out of the spot light.
