Fakhar Zaman becomes Pakistan Navy lieutenant
Left-handed Pakistani batsman Fakhar Zaman has been conferred upon with the honourary rank of lieutenant by the Pakistan Navy in appreciation for his services to the country through his achievements in cricket.
The director general Pakistan Navy said that Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi conferred renowned cricketer Fakhar Zaman the rank of Honorary Lieutenant, to honour his achievements in cricket and association with the Pakistan Navy.
Fakhar Zaman joined Pakistan Navy in 2007 and started his cricket career in 2012 while he was serving in Navy.
“Due to his extraordinary cricket skills, the Pakistan Navy provided him opportunity to continue his professional career,” he said.
While congratulating Lt Fakhar Zaman PN, Amjad Niazi highlighted that PN had produced players that earned laurels for Pakistan and would continue patronage for sports at both national and international levels. He also bestowed shields to Pakistan Cricket Board Director Media and Communications Sami Ul Hasan and cricketer Umar Gul.
