ISLAMABAD: Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Information and Broadcasting Senator Faisal Javed has sought the cooperation of members across the aisle to help pass important bills pending in the Senate for legislation.
Talking to media outside Parliament House in Islamabad on Tuesday, Faisal Javed said an authority named ‘ZARA’ would be established after passage of Zainab Alert Bill to overcome exploitation and abuse of children.
He said an awareness campaign on media will be launched to sensitize the people about the important social issue.
Faisal Javed said similar bills would be presented in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assemblies soon.
On Jan 8, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senator had said some of the bills were being delayed in the parliament because of undue criticism of the opposition.
“Unity was required for the matters of public issues and the opposition should not criticize the government in the matters of interests of common people in the parliament,” Faisal Javed had said while talking to a local news channel.
He had said some of the opposition parties who used to make hue and cry for their personal interests should refrain from the undue criticism to the government. In the same breath, he had hailed the role of some of the parliamentarians who were playing positive role and showing seriousness over the issues of public interest.
The senator had urged the opposition to play a constructive role in the parliament to maintain consensus politics with the government for the bright future of the country.
