EXCLUSIVE: Delivery boy reveals what robbers said to him

Sharjeel Arshad

KARACHI: A couple of days ago a video of a delivery boy went viral on social media in which it could be seen that robbers do not rob the boy, instead after a brief conversation they hug him, pat him and shake hands with him.

What made netizens curious in all this episode was that ‘what was the conversation that took place between robbers and the young man’?

In an exclusive interview with Dialogue Pakistan, Muhammad Noman, the Food Panda delivery boy, said that when he arrived at the destination where he had to deliver the food he found out that the person did not have change. So, the person asked him to bring the change from a nearby shop and he should not be worried about his bike as they had surveillance camera installed above their main gate.

After bringing back the money and handing over it to the person, as soon as he reached for his bike two dacoits arrived on motorcycle and talked to him in a manner as if they knew him for a long time. “Where have you been? Long time no see,” said one mugger.

The boy said that they knew that he was carrying one mobile phone and some cash. “The mugger snatched my mobile phone and cash. I requested him to return the mobile as I had borrowed it from somebody,” he said as he spoke it tears rolled down on his cheek. They gave him back all his belongings. They said they also had a heart.

Noman said when he talked to the Food Panda company informing them about gravity of the situation and that he could not carry out the operation any further in this situation, they kept insisting on continuing the work. He said he had only Rs100 order with him which he wanted to be given to another rider as he was not feeling safe as he feared that the robbers will come back again.
