Exams of elective subjects to begin after July 10, says Shafqat Mahmood
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood on Wednesday announced that examinations of grades 10th to 12th will be held from July 10 onwards.
After meeting of the Inter-Provincial Education Ministers Conference (IPEMC), Shafqat Mahmood reiterated that no student would be promoted without taking exams.
“The IPEMC has decided that examinations of only elective papers would be conducted for grades 9th and 10th in addition to Maths’ subject. So, examinations of only elective subjects of grades 11th and 12th could be held,” he said addressing a press conference in Islamabad.
He said education ministers of all the provinces had agreed to the decision. He said it was not easy for any government to shut down educational institutions. The government took decision regarding educational institutions after consultation with all the provinces, he maintained.
The minister said that first exams of intermediate would be held then of ninth and 10th grades.
