PESHAWAR: Former spokesman of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Ehsanullah Ehsan has reportedly said that he had escaped from Pakistan along his family members to Turkey.
The News newspaper claims to obtain voice message of Ehsanullah Ehsan in which he claimed that he had surrendered to the Pakistani security forces on Feb 5, 2017, under an agreement. He alleged that the Pakistani authorities violated the agreement by placing him under confinement along his children for three years.
He said he was facing hardship which coerced him to make an escape plan. He said he had managed to escape on Jan 11 the following year.
The ex-TTP said he was assured that the promise would be fulfilled. He also said that he would later explain on whose assurance he had surrendered and he and his family were held in the country.
