Ex-principal secretary to PM Fawad Hasan Fawad indicted

LAHORE: An accountability court of Lahore on Monday indicted former principal secretary to prime minister Fawad Hasan Fawad in assets beyond means case.
Fawad retired as officer of BPS-22 grade on Jan 12, 2020, while he was languishing in a prison. He has served as the principal secretary to two former primer ministers, Nawaz Sharif and Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.
The Lahore accountability court held hearing of the case against the ex-principal secy and indicted his family members as well, in the same case, which include Rubab Hasan, Waqar Hasan and Anjum Hasan.
The court has summoned witnesses to record their statements on the next hearing. The court indicted the perpetrators after they withdrew their bail applications. The Lahore High Court had at the start of the following year granted Fawad bail over lack of evidence about his illegal properties.
LHC judges Justice Tariq Abbasi and Justice Chaudhry Mushtaq had issued four-page written verdict for granting him bail.
