The European Union has provided €150 million to help Pakistan fight the coronavirus pandemic, announced on Thursday by Radio Pakistan.

EU Ambassador Androulla Kaminara gave the bid in a meeting with Interior Minister Ijaz Shah in Islamabad, according to the state-run radio.

Dutch and Czech ambassadors also attended the conference.

The money will be used to support people suffering from coronavirus, the report said.

Interior Minister Ijaz Shah told ambassadors the government is taking measures to monitor the virus spread.

The virus has killed 784 people in Pakistan so far and the number of confirmed cases has jumped to 36,717 in the country.
