Epicentre of Coronavirus, Chinese city Wuhan partially reopens
BEIJING: Chinese city Wuhan, where the coronavirus epidemic started first, has partially been reopened on Saturday (today), after more than two months of almost total isolation.
Wuhan was placed under lockdown in January with residents forbidden to leave with roadblocks on the city’s outskirts and drastic restrictions on daily life.
The state media showed the first officially sanctioned passenger train arriving back into the city just after last midnight.
People are now allowed to enter the city but not to leave.
US now has most known coronavirus cases
The United States now has the most known coronavirus cases of any country in the world, overtaking Italy and China, with more than 100,000 infections and over 1,695 deaths.
According to Johns Hopkins University Research Center based in Baltimor, worldwide, confirmed cases rose above 596,350 with 27,343 deaths.
In Italy, total cases reported so far are 86,498, with 9,134 deaths. Over 900 new corona virus deaths recorded in a single day in Italy.
Similarly in China 81,394 cases reported with 3,295 deaths. In Spain 65,719 cases reported with 5,138 deaths.
Trump signs trillion-dollar rescue bill
United States President Donald Trump has signed a trillion-dollar rescue bill to help lift the economy and address the coronavirus pandemic.
Earlier, the House of Representatives passed the package by voice vote.
Talking to reporters at a signing ceremony in New York, he said this will deliver urgently needed relief to the economy.
