Entry of cart vendors, camels and horses banned at seaside

KARACHI: The Cantonment Board Clifton has banned cart vendors, camels, jeeps and horses at seaside in Karachi for a week, spokesperson of the cantonment board said in a statement on Tuesday.

The one-week restriction is being imposed because of the special cleanliness campaign, which is aimed at highlighting the beauty of the shore.

The spokesman said the cleanliness campaign will continue from September 18 and September 24. He said negligence was committed by vendors, cart vendors, hawkers and other people selling goods and services at the beach, therefore they would not be allowed to peg tents there as well.

The CBC said visitors coming to the shore will be allowed during the cleanliness campaign.
