The Punjab government has turned the University of Engineering and Technology’s Kala Shah Kaku campus into a quarantine facility for coronavirus patients.
The facility can hold 816 people.
Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has also appointed a 16-member committee that will work under the supervision of Muhammad Basharat Raja, the Law Minister.
The committee must ensure that hospitals are continually supplied with medication and medical equipment and other required measures to contain the virus.
The chief minister has also paid a visit to many isolation centers.
He informed that 15 air-conditioned buses at Lahore’s Old Terminal Airport would be put to use for moving patients.
Each hospital had four ambulances and 10 motorcycle ambulances deployed.
