Engineering student shot dead by robbers over resistance in Karachi
Bilal Nasir, an engineering student, was killed by merciless robbers after he refused to give his valuables to the street criminals near University road area of Karachi.
Police said that 21-year-old was gunned down by robbers after he resisted during a robbery at a Quetta hotel near Samama shopping mall.
Police Surgeon Dr Summaiya Syed said that the deceased was hit by three bullets on the chest, neck and leg.
Zubair Nawaz, Station House Officer (SHO) said that some students of the NED University were drinking tea when two armed suspects snatched their mobile phone, Bilal resisted and the robbers opened fire.
However, Bilal caught one of the suspects but the suspect’s accomplice who was standing at some distance opened fire on the victim boy.
The police officer said that a bullet hit the youth in the chest, who was taken to a nearby private hospital where doctors declared him dead. Later, the body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post-mortem.
The SHO lamented that all the other people sitting in the restaurant and the nearby shopkeepers fled for their safety, even though the youth had caught one of the suspects, opining that if the others had supported Bilal so both the accused could be arrested.
The victim was a final-year student of petroleum engineering at NED university of Engineering and Technology.
