Electricity price increases by Rs3.99 per unit again

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Monday has approved an increase in basic electricity tariff by Rs3.99 per unit for April fuel adjustment.

A statement issued by NEPRA said that the unit price of electricity has been increased for April 2022 with the help of monthly fuel charges adjustment.

The statement said that the fuel price adjustment will be applicable only on June bills, the fuel price adjustment will be applicable to all DISCOs customers except lifeline customers.

NEPRA has said that the fuel price adjustment will not be applicable to the K-Electric consumers.

The statement said that CPPAG had requested an increase of Rs4.5 per unit but NEPRA approved an increase of Rs3.99 per unit.
