Election for Speaker NA to held on April 16
ISLAMABAD: The schedule for the election for the vacant post of Speaker National Assembly has been released.
The National Assembly Secretariat has fixed April 16 for the election of the Speaker of the National Assembly.
The National Assembly Secretariat has also issued letters to all members of the National Assembly in this regard.
Earlier, former Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser had announced his resignation without holding a vote on the day of voting on the no-confidence motion against former Prime Minister Imran Khan while he handed over the responsibility of voting to Panel of Chair Ayaz Sadiq.
On the other hand, the opposition has also filed a no-confidence motion against the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Qasim Suri. However, he has retained his post but later he apologized for running the assembly to elect the Leader of the House in the National Assembly.
