ISLAMABAD: The federal government has warned the civil servants to either give good performance or go home.
The government has decided to send packing the government officials rendering bad performance and prepared Civil Servants Retirement Rules 2019 in this regard, Dunya TV has quoted sources as saying. “According to the new rules, the protection of 60 years’ retirement rule would be scrapped,” the sources said.
The government would form three different retirement committees for the public officials, including one for the civil servants from BPS 1 to BPS 16. While, a separate retirement committee would be constituted for the government officers from BPS 17 and BPS 19. Another retirement committee would be constituted for senior government officers from BPS 20 to BPS 22.

According to sources, more than 260 people have either been removed or transferred from the state television for their non-performance in Punjab. “All incompetent staff of PTV including top level officers have been retired earlier because of their non-performance,” the sources said.







On Nov 29, the centre had issued orders for the appointment, promotion and transfer of 44 officers in Islamabad and 90 officers in Punjab.
The massive reshuffling had taken place after Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed his disappointment over the performance of the provincial bureaucracy and directed the government to remove the officer from his seat who put hurdle in the good governance.
The federal government had promoted Zahida Perveen as Federal Secretary Information and Broadcasting in grade BS-22 with immediate effect. According to a notification issued by Establishment Division, Zahida Perveen was earlier posted as Additional Secretary Information and Broadcasting in grade BS-21.
Syed Junaid Akhlaq, BS-20 officer of Secretariat Group, earlier posted as Joint Secretary, National History & Literary Heritage Division, had been transferred and posted as Secretary, Law & Justice Division with immediate effect and until further orders.
