Eid Al Fitr likely to be celebrated on May 3 in Pakistan

Astronomers have predicted that the moon of Shawwal will be sighted on May 2, in view of which Eid-ul-Fitr is likely to be celebrated on May 3 in Pakistan, however, there is no such announcement made by Ruet-e-Hilal Committee or Pakistan Meteorological Department.

According to media reports, astronomers said that the Shawwal moon is likely to be born on between April 30 and May 1 at 1:28 am.

On the other hand, the duration of sunset and moon sighting in different parts of the country will be minimum of 40 minutes and maximum 89 minutes.

A meeting of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will be held in Islamabad on May 1 to observe the Shawwal moon. Representatives of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Pakistan Meteorological Department and SPARCO will also attend the meeting.

The Saudi astronomer has claimed that Eid is expected on Monday, May 2 in Saudi Arabia because this time the moon will appear 30 days later.
