Egg price jumps to new heights

Pakistan has witnessed a surge in egg prices with Rs200-240 per dozen, breaking all previous records. Eggs’ demand has also increased in the wake of harsh winter season all over the country.
According to the media reports, customers are not satisfied with the government for leaving poultry farmers and retailers unchecked who in turn blame the costly chicken feed for this sharp rise in the prices.
Retailers in Karachi and Lahore are selling eggs at a rate of Rs200 per dozen while in Quetta prices have jumped to Rs240 per dozen.
