Education ministers take final decision about opening educational institutes
ISLAMABAD: Education ministers of the federal and provincial governments on Monday took the final decision about opening educational institutes across Pakistan.
The inter-ministers meeting in Islamabad decided that all the religious seminaries would be opened on Sept 15, while schools, colleges and universities would start opening phase-wise from Sept 15. Universities and classes from grade nine to grade 12 will start on Sept 15. Classes from grade six to eight will begin on Sept 22 and classes from grade one to five will start on Sept 30.
Wearing masks will be mandatory at all the educational institutes. The institutes would have to implement all the standard operating procedures. In case of non-compliance with the SoPs, strict action would be taken against the institute.
All the education ministers have agreed to the decision. Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani apprised the media that schools of the area where COVID-19 cases would start rising rapidly would be shut down.
