ECP reserves verdict in PTI’s ‘Prohibited Foreign Funding’

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday reserved the verdict in the much-delayed PTI’s “prohibited foreign funding” case.
A prohibited foreign funding case of PTI was heard under the chairmanship of the Chief Election Commissioner in which the financial expert of petitioner Akbar S. Babar stated during the hearing that the principles and standards of audit in PTI funds have been ignored, donors are not third party.
On this occasion, Akbar S. Babar said that for the first time any political party is giving details of funding in the Election Commission, every political party should be accountable before the Election Commission.
The Chief Election Commissioner said that he thanked the political parties on both sides. The case of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has been finalized.
“We want the cases of other political parties to end, the confidence of the voters to be restored, the country to be strengthened democratically,” he added.
Later, the ECP reserved its decision in the PTI prohibited foreign funding case.
No final time has been given by the Chief Election Commissioner for announcing the verdict in the case.
It should be noted that PTI prohibited foreign funding case has been pending for 8 years.
