Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Minister Taimur Khan Jhagra announced on Wednesday that out of the 46 coronavirus tests conducted at Mardan’s UC Manga, early testing showed 39 positive results.
Last week, UC Manga reported the country’s first death from coronavirus, with Jhagra adding that none of those tested had shown any symptoms of the virus yet.
Also, four of the tests were discarded, meaning the positive findings outnumbered the negative ones by a troubling 39-3.
A 50-year-old man had died last Wednesday at DHQ Hospital after arriving from Saudi Arabia in Mardan 10 days before that, leading to the union council’s immediate lockdown.
As of Tuesday evening, there were confirmed 990 identified cases of coronavirus and seven deaths across Pakistan.
