KARACHI: A law student, Dua Mangi was abducted by unidentified man in Karachi. The kidnappers shot her friend, Haris Fateh on the back of his neck on Saturday night.
A CCTV footage of the incident went viral on social media which showed that Dua and her friend Haris were walking on the road when 4 to 5 armed men forced the girl to get in their vehicle.
According to details, the incident tool plave around 8:00 pm near an open-air chai dhaaba in Bukhari Commercial area. The vehicle used in kidnapping, was already stolen from Tariq Road a few days back. An FIR was registered against the theft.
It has been more than 48 hours and Dua could not be still found. Her friend, Haris was taken to Agha Khan Univeristy Hospital, but still in critical condition. Haris’ father Abdul Fatah registered an FIR at Clifton’s Darakshan Police Station against the kidnappers.
Soon after the kidnapping incident, various people posted on social media, informing the public and the concerned authorities of the incident but there are many people who blame Dua’s dressing for her kidnapping.
That’s very sad few pple who justify women harassment by giving disgusting reasons about”why she must have got raped, b/c she wore little dress”. Kaash main Keh Sakti Allah Tumhri Behno Or Betiyon K Sath Bhi Aisy Kary. Kaash!!! But I won’t. Allah Sab Dekh Raha, 💔#DuaMangi pic.twitter.com/5CUfCcCZ0d

Linking #DuaMangi’s abduction with Aurat-March/feminism in favor or against is opportunism. Her friend – a male friend – trying to save her (as we’re told) also got shot in his neck. Focus back on who needs to be held accountable. Your MPA, MNA, police station and agencies.
