 Drugs smuggling attempt in an ambulance made unsuccessful

KARACHI: Police on Shahrah-e-Noor Jahan foiled the attempt of smuggling of huge cache of drugs, on a tip-off. The attempt was being made from Quetta to Karachi, in a Hi-roof ambulance, in which high-quality marijuana weighing more than 12 kgs was discovered.

Police acted on the instructions of DIGP west zone Asim Qaim Khani, SSP central Arif Aslam Rao, SP Gulberg, Azhar Mughal and SDPO Shadman Mr. Shakil Awaan, and 3 main inter-provincial drug dealing leaders were arrested.

According to details, smugglers were acting as patient and attendant, respectively, in an ambulance while going from Quetta to Karachi. A rescue member was also involved in the smuggling attempt.

The police has registered an F.I.R under this act, and has seized Suzuki Hi-roof CK5743, 3 mobile phones, purse and cash and ATM cards.

Police is still carrying out investigation and interrogation of this case.
