DRAP approves country’s first Covid-19 testing kit: Fawad Chaudhry

KARACHI: Science and Technology Minister Fawad Hussain said the government achieved another landmark as Pakistan ‘s Drug Regulatory Authority (DRAP) has approved the country’s first coronavirus test kit.
In a tweet on Friday, he said, “Our brilliant scientists …you people have made us proud … this ll bring significant cost reduction of COVID tests also ll save huge import bill.”
He added, “I congratulate NUST officials and our brilliant scientists.”
Fawad Chaudhry earlier said the local Covid-19 test kits would be available on the market soon after DRAP ‘s approval.
The National University of Science and Technology (NUST) had developed 1.5 million test kits for approval, which were forwarded to DRAP.
