Written by the Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar, HUM TV‘s drama serial “Juda Huay Kuch Is Tarah” feature the marriage of two unexpected foster siblings–Razayi Behen Bhai.
Well, it doesn’t seem that the drama promotes or links anything to the idea of incest but it is indeed about contending for cousin marriage.
The plot revolves around a couple (a girl who marries her maternal cousin) and they are expecting a child, but there is a third guy (girl’s paternal cousin) who also likes the girl. Now, the girl’s aunt (the third guy’s mother) pays a maid to spread a lie that the husband and the wife are actually foster siblings.
Now, the story shifts towards the marriage which has to be nullified and the future of a child who is yet to come to this world with full of emotional scenes, necessary for our conventional Television viewership.
The promo, however, ends with a Maulvi asking the maid to take oath on Quran about the truthfulness of her claim.
Triggered by the nuisance of the subject, the netizens have reacted angrily.
Some people have suggested that the PEMRA should ban the drama while a person, in Facebook’s comment box, ask everyone to report the content to Pakistan Citizen Portal.
“Is this Islamic Republic of Pakistan?,” asks a social media user in the comment section.
Getting sarcastic, some netizens have compared the drama with a popular HBO series titled “Game of Thrones” and its infamous characters: Cersei Lannister and Jaime Lannister.
Meanwhile, on the lighter note, some people have found the right opportunity to debate whether marrying a foster sibling is actually halal or haram.
The drama serial Juda Huay Kuch Is Tarah, starring Nabeel Zuberi, Dur-e-Fishan, Hassan Khan and others, is written by Khalil-ur-Rehman who has been in the limelight, following the success of his drama Mere Pass Tum Ho.
