Dr Zafar Mirza contracts coronavirus disease

ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Health Dr Zafar Mirza on Monday contracted coronavirus disease.

He has shown mild symptoms, thus has isolated himself at home.

“I have tested positive for COVID-19. Under med advice I have isolated myself at home & taking all precautions. I have mild symptoms. Please keep me in your kind prayers. Colleagues, keep up the good work! You are making a big difference & I am proud of you,” Dr Zafar Mirza wrote in a tweet.

With 50 new deaths from coronavirus over the last twenty-four hours, death toll from the virus has climbed to 4,762. 22,271 corona tests were carried out in last one day.

131, 649 coronavirus patients have so far recovered from the disease across the country.

3344 new cases surfaced during the last twenty-four hours taking the tally to two hundred, thirty one thousand, eight hundred and eighteen. These include 81,963 in Punjab, 94528 in Sindh, 28116 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 10814 in Balochistan, 13494 in Islamabad, 1561 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 1342 in Azad Kashmir.
