Domicile issuance process being further simplified: NA relayed

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Communications Murad Saeed on Tuesday told the house that the process of issuance of domicile was being further simplified.
“The prime minister in the last cabinet meeting gave directions to make the system of issuance of domicile more simplified and transparent,” he said adding that the people would soon see a change in this regard.
Parliamentary Secretary for Interior Shaukat Ali said a citizen facilitation center had been functioning in the federal capital to issue domiciles to the residents of Islamabad. He said the facility was preparing 30 to 35 domiciles every day.

Responding to a calling attention notice, the parliamentary secretary said a mobile app is also being developed to ensure that the residents of the federal capital get their domiciles at their doorsteps.
PM directs for disposal of delayed applications in one month
Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed the federal ministries, divisions and provincial governments to timely dispose of applications related to core service functions such as issuance of licenses, NOCs, domiciles and other redressals.
According to a letter issued by the Prime Minister Office, the prime minister has taken a serious view of delay by the federal ministries, divisions and provincial governments in action on the applications of citizens.
He has directed for disposal of unattended or delayed applications within the next four weeks and submission of the report to his office by the federal ministries and divisions and to the Chief Minister House by the provincial governments.
Prime Minister Imran has also asked these tiers of government to work out minimum timelines for processing of such cases and project such timelines on their websites and notice boards within ten days to build confidence of people in government functionaries.
If such cases cannot be disposed of within the stipulated timelines for certain reason, the delay shall be explained to the application in writing.
The federal ministers and chief ministers have been asked to closely monitor implementation of the above directive in the interest of good governance and public interest.
