Dollar continues to depreciate in Pakistan on fourth day of business week

Karachi: The dollar depreciated further by 35 paise in the foreign exchange today. At the end of the trading day, the dollar was trading at Rs 159.46 on the interbank market.
The dollar has lost 79 paise on the interbank market this week. In the open market, the dollar lost 25 paise to 159 rupees 70 paise.
The Pakistan Stock Exchange also witnessed an upward trend today and the 100 Index closed at 41,071 with an increase of 789 points.
During the trading day, the 100 Index remained in the band of 804 points, with the highest level of the index being 41,086.
A total of 350 million shares of 400 companies were traded in the market today and the turnover of the shares was Rs 11.70 billion. Market capitalization has increased by Rs 119 billion to Rs 7584 billion.
