Doctor allegedly rapes patient in Larkana

LARKANA : A doctor has allegedly raped a patient in Larkana, which has triggered protests from local people.
The protesters demanded that the Larkana General Hospital should be sealed and a case be should be registered against them for the heinous act. Protesters also demanded arrest of the alleged rapist doctor.
Earlier, the Child Protection Court in Peshawar had sentenced a man accused of raping a 7-year-old girl to death.
The Child Protection Court had said that the medical report had proved that the accused had raped the girl. The Child Protection Court Peshawar had also imposed a fine of Rs one lac, on the accused.
It may be recalled that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government had drafted an amendment bill to prevent child abuse, which proposed the death penalty or life imprisonment for child abuse.
The Chief Minister Mehmood Khan had directed to introduce the Child Protection Amendment Bill in the cabinet meeting. The amendment bill proposed video and audio recordings of those sentenced to death for child abuse.
According to the draft bill, the death sentence will be recorded through video and will be made public after approval. The convict will remain in jail till death.
