ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Youth Affairs Usman Dar on Tuesday said the disbursement of loans under Kamyab Jawan Program would be started from December the following year.
Addressing a news conference in Islamabad, Usman Dar said, “The youth have shown immense interest in the program and about 200,000 applications have so far been received.”
He was confident that the program will prove to be a game changer for the development of the country’s economy. He said every possible measure had been taken to make the program transparent and free from political interference.
The special assistant said, “In the next phase of the program, we will try to fix the quota for disabled and minorities on the pattern of female share in the program.”
He said the main purpose of the program was to empower the youth and help them stand on their own feet.
“Youth all over the country, regardless of the fact that they are doing jobs or not, between the age of 21 and 45 would be able to avail this loan,” he said.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony of ‘Kamyab Jawan Program’, one of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government’s flagship initiatives, in Islamabad on Oct 17, PM Imran Khan had said youth were future of Pakistan and the country’s destiny depended on them. He had said the PTI government strongly believed in merit and transparency and summary of Kamyab Jawan program was the program of merit.
“Only those nations move forward in the world that follow the rule of merit,” he had said.
He had said as a result of establishment of state of Madinah by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the Muslims ruled the world for over a thousand years. He had said meritocracy and uprightness were hallmarks of the state of Madinah which helped it succeed.
