PESHAWAR: The health department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has expressed the concern that the delivery team may be targeted during dispatching of COVID-19 vaccines.
The health department has sought security from the police and wrote a letter in this regard to the CCPO Peshawar.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s health department has requested for the provision of security during transferring of the vaccines from Islamabad to Peshawar.
It said as per the instructions of the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), there were security concerns during transferring of the vaccines to Peshawar. “Therefore, we need security until the vaccines are dispatched to their destinations,” it added.
The first batch of covid-19 vaccines has reached Islamabad via special Pakistan Air Force plane, on Monday (today).
The flight carrying 500,000 doses of corona virus vaccines landed at the Noor Khan Airbase.
Moreover, the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) has said that storage, transportation and administration for the vaccines had been decided.
